Simple sentence contain only ONE independent clause (1 IC)
Compound Sentences contain TWO OR MORE independent clauses (2+ ICs)
Complex sentences contain ONE independent Clause AND ONE or MORE dependent clauses. (1 IC and 1+ DCs)
Compound-Complex Sentences contain TWO OR MORE independent clauses AND ONE OR MORE dependent clauses
(2+ ICs and 1+ DCs)
Writing with all of them creates better, more mature writing.
