Fragment, Run-on, or Complete Sentence?
Identifying the Subject & Verb Helps!

Fragments are just parts of sentences, just pieces.
Verbs do two things:
1. They show action (run/ran, jump(ed), sing/sung, etc.) (Action Verbs)
2. They show a state of being: is, was, are, were, will be (Linking Verbs)

Run-ons are multiple sentences combined incorrectly.
The subject of the sentence is the thing (person, place or thing) that is doing that action or is being connected to an action with the linking verb (is, was, were, are, will be, has been, have been).
